It is a festival for catching up on what's new and upcoming in the German-speaking theatre world. The festival with open call each year, and a selection of 10 experimental German-speaking theatre works will be showcased in the festival.

Apart from the performances, the festival also organise seminars and workshops for the public and professionals to take part, in sharing of ideas.

Well-established venue featuring strong text-based theatre works that with sophisticated dramaturgical research. There are numbers of renowned international directors are associated with the theatre for showcasing and re-running their works constantly throughout the year.

With the exceptional backstage tour of the theatre, I was very much amazed with their complicated operation system in managing re-set of the set & lighting for different re-run shows in short lead time, in just one or two days!

Emerged from a festival for Germanic productions to now catering the whole theatre world. Every year, 10 theatre works will be selected to re-run in the festival. To know what's the most important theatre works in the previous year, seems that theaterffen shouldn't be missed.

"International Forum" (an 18-day scholarship programme) promotes young theatre makers from all parts of the world, its blog invites emerging cultural journalists/critics (with very good knowledge of German language) to take part.
